I am on a roll....

Well actually I have a cold, so knitting is a good thing to do!   We woke up to several inches of snow this morning and it looks beautiful!  Sitting in front of the fireplace knitting was quite cozy!  I have finished a few more scarves....

This one is irridescent white with a close up shot below!

This scarf is Black with shimmery silver glitter throughout!

Scarves, Scarves and more Scarves!

Mark and I just returned from being gone for 5 days! No we didn't go anywhere exotic!  But we did get to see some loved ones!  We visited Megan and Kevin in Kansas City, MO and did some shopping.  We love Jack Stack's BarBQ!  We went to St. Louis and visited with Mark's cousin and family!  Drove to Southern Illinois to see my mother in the nursing home and onto my sisters to visit with her and her husband and my niece even popped in for a visit!  We then headed to Robinson to see Amber and her family and I was thrilled to teach Abigail to knit!  I introduced it a month ago and she actually remembered!  What fun memories!  I cannot wait to teach each of my granddaughters to knit!  It is something that will stay with you even if you don't do it for a number of years!

I enjoyed checking out five different Knit shops while traveling.  Two were old favorites but I got to add a new favorite to the list!

One thing nice about being the passenger is it allowed me to knit and did I ever!  I got a lot of scarves done while traveling!  I am knitting a lot these days, trying to decide whether to have a craft show or sell on Etsy!  The proceeds will go to Dan and Amber to help with the expenses of their travels for their oversees adoption!

Here are a few pictures of what I have been doing!  Trust me there are more!  Nancy

Laundry Room Before and After!

I have been busy, busy, busy!!  Finally getting the Laundry Room finished up.... so I thought I would take some pictures and show you the Before and After shots!  I am always up for a challenge and this was no exception trying to get it all to tie together!
Mark put Beadboard up on two of the walls, I layed tile on the floor and he helped me grout!
We painted the walls and cupboards white and put new hardware on the doors.  It looked too white so I put fabric onto boards and mounted them onto the backs of the open shelves!  I didn’t stop there, I covered the ironing board cover in the same fabric and also lined the back of the cool drying rack I found with the same fabric!  Our visitors sometimes end up in our pantry when headed to the bathroom so I decided to cut some letters and label the doors!  We added the deep sink and cabinet which I am sure will come in handy if for nothing else some dirty dog paws!  It is so nice having my washer and dryer on the main level!!!  While I was at it I had  bought this six pane window at an antique shop and decided to put it up on the wall with a wreath, the shutters were left over from my Robinson house.  While I am recycling the shelf above the drying rack is some of the old wood work from This Old House that I painted and added hooks to!  I hope you like it cause I am pretty much lovin it!!!  Hope you don’t get overdosed on pictures!
Yesterday was Our Second Wedding Anniversary and I am so thankful to have Mark in my life, I have been richly blessed to have him as my husband!  Tomorrow is my Birthday so I am so excited my daughter and family are on their way here and taking us out for supper!  With my daughters having young children I am the one who usually travels to see them.... so I am super excited because the grandkids always want to see where I live!  One of my grandaughters insist her mother doesn’t know where I live... I tell her otherwise but seeing is believing .....  They are coming soon!  :)  BTW they have all been here but it has been a year!
Hope your Valentine treated you royally!  I awoke to a rose everywhere I frequent in the mornings with a candy heart nearby with a saying!  Too Sweet !  We decided to eat supper at home and Mark did the cooking and made some awesome Shish Cabobs (sp?)   however they are spelt they tasted great!!!  Thanks Mark!

Peek at Laundry Room

We have been busy working on the Laundry Room..... I have been laying tile, painting and starting to decorate!  This was a project I was excited about getting done!  I no longer have to go to the basement aka dungeon to do my laundry!!!  Mark built the additional shelves on the right of the cabinets to make it look a little more even!  I will take more pictures with before and after and post them later, but for now this is what it is looking like so far!  The paint is ultra white, hopefully I will get some better pictures too!

Hope you have an awesome Monday!

Is it Spring yet?

I don't know what the weather has been like where you live, but here in Iowa we have had a rather mild winter!  High 50's is just a little strange in January, coming into February who knows what we can expect?  Whatever we get we certainly don't have any room to complain about it!  At least I hope I am not complaining!  I for one enjoy each season, although I could do without 100 degree temperature in the Summertime, but I take it as it comes!  I really do like a good snow storm, so call me weird if you want!  I think hot chocolate, fireplace, curled up on the couch knitting!  Oh to dream!!

But now where have I been hiding you might (or might not) ask?   I went visiting last week!  I went to see  my Mother, my two sisters and their hubbies, and last but not least my daughter and her family!  I enjoyed my visit with everyone and even enjoyed a chinese dinner with an old friend!  (Oh yeah  Pat I know I am older than you!  But you are one of my longest friendships!

I even had a chance to see Anne from my old coffee shop in Robinson, although now she is enjoying being a Stay at Home Mom to this adorable little guy!  When I knitted this owl hat I had Rhett in mind and hoped it would fit him and that it did quite perfectly!

So now what am I doing?  Well, I have several hats to get done for some orders... which by the way I am giving all the proceeds to Amber to help with the expenses of adopting a baby boy from Bulgaria!  $25. is the fee so if you are interested shoot me an email!  The pattern is my own creation!  Yay, first time for me on creating my own pattern!

Tomorrow I will post some pictures about our latest project here in This Old House!

Happy Wednesday to all of you!

Nancy
