Wavy Top Tote

I was wanting to make myself a new purse and was unsure of the pattern.... low and behold I found a free pattern on Sweet Bee Buzzing that I love... I would of gladly paid for the pattern!  I used my Michael Miller fabric and love it!  This purse pattern will get used again and again!  Thanks to Bethany for the awesome pattern!

The exterior has a nice roomy pocket on both sides!

Below is my new label that I made on Spoonflower!  I just wished I had bought a red zipper for the closing!

Can we say loads of pockets in the interior!  I even put a hanger for my keys which I can never find!  (Thanks Judi A. for the idea!)

There are three good size pockets on each side of the interior plus a pencil holder on the inside besides a zip pocket!

Now I am trying to decide which pattern to make a purse out of for me!  I know what I want just have to figure out if I am going to use one of these patterns or find another one?

WOOT WOOT All six Bag of the Months are Completed!!!

YAY!!!  I have now completed all six of the bag of the months!  I did not join till May 2nd and  I knew when I joined I would be behind from the start, but I made it before the end of June!  I would of made it sooner, but a few other purses and wallets got in the way.....

The June Bag of the Month is designed by Chris W. Designs and honestly she is the one who got me into this.... I bought a pattern off of her website and saw the advertisement.... Her patterns are great and full of pictures!  This is the City Slicker Bag and she will have the pattern for sale sometime in July!  I love it!  I will be making me one in another color soon!

Here is the June Bag of the Month....

Been a busy week, my sweet little 2 1/2 year old grandson stuck something up his nose (a piece of a styrofoam airplane) and after a trip to the ER with no success of getting it out he had to have minor surgery to get it out.... I babysat for the rest of the siblings one day.... Then Thursday my youngest daughter and her family traveled to see the "sister" and nothing this momma/nana likes better than to see all of them together so we traveled again and celebrated 2 birthdays with them and today we are traveling again to celebrate one of the birthdays a second time.  The 7 kids had so much fun together, one family is city kids and the other family are farm kids... so the city kids traveled to the farm and they apparently had a blast!  It was good to see my daughters having a terrific visit!!!!  Their daddy/Grandpa would of been so proud of all of them, I know without a doubt Poppa Gary is smiling down from Heaven!!!!!

Mason Jar Cozies....

If you remember this time last year I was crocheting Mason Jar Cozies like crazy and making lids for them....  I am still crocheting them occasionally (made a teal one just last week).  I decided I would try to make a fabric one with some fusible fleece and maybe it would be somewhat insulated and keep drinks cold longer.  This is what I came up with!

Oh yes, that is a string hanging in the middle and the straw is pink not red!

Happy Friday Morning to you!  Hope you are doing something awesome this Father's Day Weekend!

The Steph in the City Bag

Just finished up the Steph In The City Bag pattern by Janelle at Emmaline Bags....  Love the pattern and Love the fabric combination!  I added and extra pocket panel on the interior and I used Annie's Soft and Stable, next time I will try it with just the fusible fleece.  I mainly did it because for the person I made this for, she will be traveling and wanted a little extra protection for a camera!

I am really liking the little "Handmade" tag that I also order from Janelle!

The inside below with zip pocket, and pockets on each side of purse!

Love the zipper closing at the opening of the purse!

another view.....

Have a Blessed Thursday wherever you are!

Pincushions.....

I took a break for a moment, well not really!  I intended to clean up my mess before I started a new project.  I have been wanting to make some pincushions!  A few weeks back I made some Cathedral Window Pincushions which I loved (and I really need to make some more of those!  they were fun!)  I found a Dresden Star Pincushion on All People Quilt.  Go ahead download the free pattern and make yourself one or two!

As much as I love the vintage look of Ric Rac I wasn't as please with the two that I used it on!  What did I use for stuffing you may ask.... On two I used the grated Walnut Shells purchased in a Quilt Shop  and the third I used table salt, since I ran out of the Walnut Shells!

So now I must go clean my space so I can make another mess.... Oh wait, there seems to be a pattern here!

Happy Tuesday (it is a rainy day here!)

The Poolside Tote

Yay!!!  I just finished bag #5 of the Bag of the Month Club!  The Poolside Tote and the author of the pattern is Noodle-head!  This bag is HUGE.... It is so big you could fit a small child in it plus your swimming gear! :)  Seriously it would fit the bill for toting towels for a large family to the pool plus all the other gear  you would need!  I did put some inside pockets in it, plus it has a key holder and an outside zippered pocket which is pretty big too!

So without further ado here is my bag....

I used Annie's Soft and Stable and quilted the outside of the bag, I used a home decor fabric that was pretty sturdy to boot!

Here is the front....

Here is the backside

...and the interior!

Thanks for looking!  Have a terrific Monday!!

My current project...

I am now working on #5 for the Bag of the Month Club, considering I got a late start since the club started in January and I didn't join till April.....

This bag is the Poolside Tote and it is huge!  I love the Annie's Soft and Stable for interfacing purses, so I decided to quilt this one.....

Stay tuned, I will have it done soon!

Have a Blessed Sunday!  I am headed off to church with my hubby!

Backyard Birds

When we moved last fall, one of the first things we liked about the house was the surroundings outdoors.  We have woods on 3 sides of our home.  By Christmas time we were putting out bird feeders, and indeed the birds came.  All winter long we enjoyed Cardinals, lots of Cardinals!  We counted as many at 18 at a time out in the trees and on feeders.  The Cardinals were one of my favorites because in the snow they were just beautiful!  We also had several kinds of Woodpeckers, Red Headed, Red Bellied, Northern Flicker, Hairy and Downy.   We have some Doves, Blue Jays, Junco's, Chickadee's, Nuthatch and Sparrows to name a a few more.  I guess I had never paid much attention to Birds before and they are indeed one of God's most beautifully unique creations!

So this spring and early summer, we had new birds arrive!  We are excited every time we see new ones!  We have had grosbeaks, Indigo Buntings, Baltimore Orioles, House Finches, Purple Finches and Goldfinches.  As of late we have not seen as much of a variety, so we are unsure of the disappearance other than maybe a neighborhood cat and the owls we hear at night!

So for your viewing pleasure, some pictures of what we have been enjoying in our backyard sanctuary!

I have to say that the Indigo Bunting is just STUNNING!!!!!

Below is a female Baltimore Oriole!

This Red Headed Woodpecker looks kind of crusty!

The Baltimore Oriole is just gorgeous!!!

The Goldfinches have such striking colors!

My favorite the Indigo Bunting!

We always had finches waiting to get onto the feeder!

Luke 12:7 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.

One of my favorite old hymns is "His Eye is on the Sparrow"

Why should I feel discouraged?
Why should the shadows come?
Why should my heart feel lonely
And long for heaven and home?

When Jesus is my portion
A constant friend is He
His eye is on the sparrow
And I know He watches over me
His eye is on the sparrow
And I know He watches me
I sing because I'm happy
I sing because I'm free
His eye is on the sparrow
And I know He watches me....

Happy Weekend

The Midtown Messenger Bag

I just finished up the Midtown Messenger Bag ~ pattern by Betz White....  A lot of details in this bag, but well worth the effort!  It has an inside pocket for your full sized IPad with plenty of room for more "stuff".....

This was Number 4 in the Bag of the Month Club... I now have two more to make to complete the Club Projects by July 15th.... I hope to be finished by the weekend!  I have a new pattern from Janelle at Emmaline Bags and cannot wait to make it!

So here she is in all of her glory... The Midtown Messenger Bag.

Underneath the front flap are two good size front pockets!

I love the hardware on this bag!

The Bag side has a handy grab tab plus two more outside pockets!

That is all I have for today!  It is knitting day at church so I think I will grab my knitting and a cuppa coffee and enjoy the day!

Blessings to you today!  The sun is shining, the birds are singing like crazy and it looks to be a beautiful day!
